China has discovered a giant gold deposit worth $3 trillion
China recently discovered a giant gold deposit containing nearly 50 tons of gold, which is worth about $3 trillion at current prices.
The gold deposit is located in the city of Rushan in eastern China’s Shandong province, according to the provincial mineral resources authority. The Shandong Provincial Department of Geology and Mineral Resources said that the deposit area is large and the gold ore inside can be easily mined. The gold prospectors had to dig more than 250 holes with a depth of 1,400 meters to find the deposit, Chong Min Lin, deputy head of the No. 6 Geology Group at the Mineral Resources Department, told local media Tamkong Daily. According to the government’s estimate, the gold deposit will produce two thousand tons of gold ore for at least 20 years.
